Sheep

Our sheep are raised in a carefully managed rotational grazing system that mirrors their natural grazing behavior. In our approach, the flock is moved through a series of pastures sections,  ensuring that each area is grazed only for a short period before being allowed time to rest and recover. This system not only gives the sheep access to fresh, nutrient-rich forage but also promotes the regrowth of grasses and other native plants.

We raise Barbado Blackbelly and Dorper sheep-two hardy breeds know for their resilience, adaptability, and exceptional meat quality. By combining these breeds, we produce lamb thatis tender, flavorful, and naturally lean, all while thriving in our pasture-based, rotational grazing system.

Barbado Blackbelly sheep are reowned for their hardiness, parasite resistance, and lean, mild-flavored meat. Naturally adapted to warm climates, they thrive in New Mexico's high-altitude environment. Their meat is tender, low in fat, and free of the strong flavor often associated with lamb, making it a favorite among those seeking a lighter, more delicate taste.

Dorper sheep are known for their excellent meat quality and adaptability. With a natureal ability to thrive on pasture, Dorper lamb is tender, well-marbled, and rich in flavor, offering a slightly more robust taste than Barbado Blackbelly. Their fast growth rate and efficient grazing make them well-suited to our regenerative farming practices.
